Over 1,700 guests gathered for the KidsPlay Golden Gala: Skyfall, an upscale James Bond 007-inspired black tie gala dedicated to celebrating leadership, community impact, and youth empowerment.

Hosted by KidsPlay Foundation, the event brought together business leaders, elected officials, first responders, community advocates, sponsors, and cultural influencers for an unforgettable evening of entertainment, philanthropy, and celebration.

The evening featured live performances by internationally recognized Punjabi music star Miss Pooja alongside the Kandola Brothers, creating a high-energy atmosphere that blended luxury, culture, and community impact.

Corporate sponsors included Porsche Langley, TD Bank Group, Van Gogh Designs Furniture, Musecraft Furniture, Surrey Fire Fighters Charitable Society, Sandhar Trucking, Pacific Tenada Freight, and several other community-focused organizations.

About KidsPlay Foundation

KidsPlay Foundation is a Canadian non-profit organization focused on keeping youth away from gangs, violence, and drugs through sports, mentorship, education, leadership programs, and mental health initiatives.

Since its founding, KidsPlay has impacted over 100,000 youth through community programming, mentorship opportunities, sports initiatives, and outreach efforts across Canada and internationally.

The Golden Gala serves as one of the organization’s signature fundraising and awareness events, bringing together community leaders and supporters to help create opportunities for the next generation.

The Challenge

The event organizers wanted more than a traditional photo booth experience. The activation needed to align with the cinematic James Bond "Skyfall" theme, feel premium and immersive, engage guests immediately upon arrival, and appeal to a high-profile audience. It also needed to integrate sponsor presence naturally, maintain strong throughput despite large attendance, and create memorable, shareable moments worthy of a luxury gala atmosphere. Because the booth location was positioned slightly outside the main mingling area, maximizing guest engagement and visibility became especially important.

Off the Reel’s Solution

Off the Reel designed and executed two immersive themed experiences. The first was the AI James Bond Experience, where guests were transformed into sophisticated spy-thriller characters using advanced AI-generated cinematic portraiture. The AI environments featured sleek Porsche-inspired luxury styling, cinematic mountain-road scenes, helicopters, editorial-style lighting, and Hollywood-inspired compositions designed specifically for the Skyfall theme. Because Porsche Langley was a major sponsor, Porsche-inspired visual elements were strategically integrated into the AI scenes, making sponsor presence feel like part of the cinematic storytelling rather than branded advertising. The second was the Casino Experience with Background Removal Technology. Guests were placed into high-stakes roulette celebrations, VIP poker table victories, luxury baccarat salons, and cinematic casino jackpot moments. Each environment was carefully designed to maintain the guest's authentic likeness, natural expressions, and editorial-quality realism. The result was a highly polished experience that felt more like a Hollywood movie poster than a traditional event photo.

Adaptive Guest Engagement Strategy

Recognizing that long registration lines were forming early in the evening, the Off the Reel team proactively adapted the activation into a roaming experience. Using the Roamer setup, staff engaged guests directly in registration lines to entertain them during wait times, reduce frustration, increase activation visibility, and create early excitement. As guest flow shifted into the ballroom later in the evening, the activation transitioned back into a stationary setup, allowing the experience to remain flexible and responsive to the natural flow of the event.

Guest Experience & Operations
The activation was supported by a three-person team with a streamlined process where guests captured their portraits, moved to a dedicated digital sharing station, and received printed photos delivered by hand. This concierge-style delivery system created an elevated guest experience while maintaining steady throughput. Experiences included instant prints, instant digital sharing, AI-generated cinematic portraits, luxury casino-style transformations, and editorial-quality imagery generated within seconds.

VIP & Community Engagement
The activation attracted notable guests including Randeep Sarai, Linda Annis, Mike Bose, representatives from Surrey Fire Fighters, and various community leaders and public officials. One standout moment included Randeep Sarai being transformed into a cinematic spy-thriller character beside a luxury Porsche with a helicopter in the background.

Guests repeatedly returned to try different scenes, with feedback highlighting the realism and cinematic quality as one of the most talked-about aspects of the evening.

Results
The activation successfully extended the Skyfall theme into an interactive guest experience, integrated sponsor presence organically, delivered premium cinematic keepsakes in real time, and maintained efficient guest flow throughout the evening. Rather than simply placing a photo booth at the event, Off the Reel transformed the activation into a fully immersive extension of the gala itself, blending entertainment, storytelling, sponsor integration, and cinematic personalization into one cohesive guest experience.
