At Surrey’s Party for the Planet 2026, Connect FM brought their community presence to life through an interactive, family-friendly activation designed to engage, entertain, and leave a lasting impression.
As one of Western Canada’s growing multicultural media networks, Connect FM connects diverse communities through radio, digital media, and live events. For this large-scale public celebration, they partnered with Off the Reel to transform a standard booth setup into an experience that people actively sought out.
Instead of relying on foot traffic alone, the activation created a destination—something guests were excited to participate in throughout the day.
Event Goals
Connect FM set out clear objectives for the activation:
• Drive strong community engagement
• Create a branded attraction that naturally draws crowds
• Provide a memorable takeaway guests would keep

This needed to work continuously over a 6-hour period, handling steady crowds without losing energy.

Guests could step into a variety of creative scenes, including:
• Standing beside an elephant
• Swimming with dolphins
• Beside a giant sunflower
• Scenic mountain landscapes
• Nature-inspired adventure environments
The variety encouraged guests to explore, experiment, and come back for more.
